OVERSEAS GENDER REVEAL PARTY: IT'S A GIRL!
As an American millennial, my Instagram feed and Facebook timeline are both filled with fellow friends having Gender Reveal Parties. While this tradition is just a few years old, us American's love an excuse to party. So although I live in Budapest and not one of my expat friends, or my in-laws had ever heard of this, I was not going to miss my chance to join in on the Gender Reveal fun.
I DELIVERED A BABY IN BUDAPEST
I recently delivered a beautiful baby girl in Budapest, and boy was it an experience. Navigating the health system in a different country is a task. I spent many nights reading threads on Budapest Facebook groups about delivering at a public hospital or a private hospital, vaccinations, insurance, etc.
MY BUDAPEST BIRTH STORY
So here’s how the story goes. From the start I wanted a natural birth with no medication. People thought I was crazy, but I knew I could do it. I also wanted the option of a water birth if possible. A friend suggested Hypnobirthing. Once I looked into it, I knew I was going to have the birth story of my dreams. Spoiler alert... my daughters birth was not what I expected.
